1.   Swimming: A person of the escort may hand food and beverages to the swimmer in the course of the swimming. This is only allowed from the opposite side where the officials count lanes and time the swimmers. Only the officials have the authority to announce when the swimming is over.

2.   Riding the bicycle: Escort vehicles on the cycling track are fundamentally forbidden. The escort crew is only allowed to handle food, beverages, clothing and replacement parts on the edge of the track. That applies also if a participant needs help with repairing his or her bike. Service and control vehicles of the promoter supervise everything and help in case of a puncture on track. Each participant is in charge of sufficient light on the bike as well as on their clothing! Please remember to bring batteries and replacement lights! The traffic regulations must be obeyed! It’s every participant’s duty to wear a security helmet! The number of depart must be worn on the participant’s back. Saturday, 9 pm, is the limit for the cycle race. After this moment you are to be taken out of the race. In the central office (of the contest) you may call on massages and medical aid. Checkpoints: It’s up to the participant to inform the officials as soon as he or she has passed the checkpoint. The number of depart must be noticeable, evident and registered by the officials! Checkpoints are located at the central office as well as at the turning point in Beschendorf. Motorized officials will make sure that the participants stick to the rules while they are riding their bikes. It is permitted to accompany the participants by bike. Cycling in the slipstream of another contender is strictly forbidden (stop-and-go-rule). Tents of coaches are to be placed in 10-12 metres distance to the entrance and exit on the edge of the track.

3.   Running: Each participant may be accompanied by runners or cyclists. The bike must be equipped with light and reflectors. The running track is completely illuminated during the night. Your crew may hand you food, beverages and clothes. It is your duty to wear appropriate clothing at night. Use clothes that are reflecting. The number of depart must be worn in a clear way. The persons who accompany you are not allowed to run or drive in front of you. You may run or walk but you are not allowed to take advantage of any other kind of aid. You have to finish the competition from the best of your ability. Please note that you are to be registered at the checkpoints (central office) by the officials.

4.    If necessary, the crew of physicians/contest organization is going to intervene and will take you out of the competition. You may get massages and medical aid in the central office any time you want.

5.   5. The promoter reserves the right to take a dope test. 

6.   It’s every participant’s duty to become familiar with the regulations of the contest as well as with the course before the competition starts. Complaints will not be accepted after the contest. Everybody who did not inform oneself is responsible for a possible disqualification. In case of a violation against the rules it’s up to the contest organization to come to an appropriate decision. In that case this decision is binding.

7.   Protection and safekeeping of your bicycle: You or your crew are responsible for the protection and the equipment of your bike. We do not accept any liability for neither a possible damage nor a loss of any of your material. A place where you can take care of any problems you might have with your bike is located in the ‘Waldschwimmbad’ (swimming pool in the forest).

8.    The promoter reserves the right to take a dope test.

9.    The promoter reserves the right to modify the rules.

Climate: The weather conditions are generally favourable in august, but wind and rain can be decisive factors. Be aware of sudden changes in weather and use warm clothes and/or wind jackets, because it can be cold at night.
